Video to promote the Rise Again fundraising photo exhibit for those impacted by Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
On November 8, 2013 Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) hit the Philippines causing mass destruction. Photographer Roger Spinti and RN Chris Gonzales travelled to the Philippines with Relief International and Kaiser Permanente — Gonzales to provide aide to victims and Spinti to document the impact of Haiyan and the relief efforts.
Spinti’s photographs had a profound effect on Richard Dischler, who conducts the Richard Dischler Photo Workshops. Spinti and other workshop members, along with Dischler, collaborated to launch the “Rise Again” photo exhibit to benefit the communities affected by Haiyan. One-hundred percent of funds raised from this exhibit will be donated to Catholic Relief Services (CRS). CRS has been responding to disasters and providing development assistance to the people of the Philippines since 1945 including relief and reconstruction work for the victims of Haiyan.
We invite you to attend the open house/reception and contribute to the relief effort. The public reception is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday April 26 at Keeble & Shuchat Select Gallery, 290 South California Ave, Palo Alto, CA.
The exhibit will be on display from March 24 to May 20, 2014.
